📣 PikMyKid Parent Connection Information Parents, your student should have received your Parent Connection QR Code in their folder today. Please check their folder and keep this code handy as you complete the connection process. ⚠️ PLEASE NOTE: The Parent Connection QR Code can only be used ONE time. Once it has been scanned and used to connect an account to the student, it cannot be used again. If you have registered for the PikMyKid Parent App but are unable to see or connect with your child, you may need to use the Parent Connection QR Code. 📱 How the Parent Connection QR Code Works: Scan the QR code through the PikMyKid app. This will connect you to your student and allow you to access their dismissal information. 👵🏽👴🏽 What about grandparents or other family members? If a grandparent will regularly need access to the student, they may also use a Parent Connection QR Code. However, if they will only pick up your child occasionally, we recommend adding them as a Delegate instead. This allows them to pick up your child on designated days without giving them the same access as a primary parent/guardian. ⚠️ IMPORTANT: Simply adding someone to the Managed Approved Contacts list does NOT allow them to see your child in the app. For a connected guardian to see the student: 1. Their name and phone number must be added to at least one day on the student’s calendar. 2. Once added, the student will appear under the “Other Children” tab. 3. Delegates will also be able to see the specific dates they have been approved for pickup. They can select the date to view additional delegation details. 📢IMPORTANT📢 To help keep our dismissal process safe, smooth, and efficient, parents who are picking up students through the car line should have the PikmyKid app downloaded and ready to use. If a parent does not have the app or chooses not to use it, we will avoid calling the student to the car through the regular dismissal line. Continuing to do so may make it difficult to encourage consistent use of the system. Rather than holding up the car line, parents without the app can be asked to: 1. Pull out of the dismissal line and park in a designated area. Their child(ren) can be called once the regular car line has cleared. 2. Exit and re-enter the line once they are able to complete the necessary steps in the app. This allows families who are properly checked in to continue moving through dismissal. 3. Come inside the school to pick up their child. If they are unable to use the app, we cannot delay the car line while their student is called. The goal is not to inconvenience anyone, but to create consistency for all families and keep dismissal moving as safely and efficiently as possible. Once families understand that the app is part of the car line process, we believe we’ll see better participation and a much smoother dismissal.
